PER GRAZIA RICEVUTA

CONTEMPORARY VISIONS OF EX-VOTO

from 12 April to 30 September 2025
After its success in Milan, the exhibition Per Grazia Ricevuta arrives in Naples, in the evocative setting of the Chapel and Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro. Curated by Alberto Mattia Martini and produced by D’Uva, the exhibition presents over 120 works by contemporary artists – including Paladino, Pistoletto, Jodice, Biasiucci, Mitoraj and Yves Klein – offering a new look at the theme of the ex voto.
A journey between faith and art, tradition and contemporary languages, which invites us to reflect on gratitude, miracle, survival and rebirth.
The star of the exhibition is the famous blue monochrome by Yves Klein donated by the French artist in 1958 to the monastery of Santa Rita da Cascia as a sign of devotion, here exceptionally exhibited in the Sacristy of the Chapel of the Treasure of San Gennaro where the paintings of Luca Giordano are kept.
Produced by D’Uva, the exhibition aims to explore and reinterpret the ancient theme of ex votos – tangible witnesses of faith, gratitude, miracle and survival – through the eyes of 120 artists, including Mimmo Jodice, Mimmo Paladino, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Antonio Biasiucci, Giulia Piscitelli, Roxy in the Box, Igor Mitoraj and other prestigious authors of the contemporary scene.
In the exhibition, ancient tradition merges with new contemporary languages and forms of expression. The votive object, from matter, becomes an emblem of the relationship with other dimensions and addresses delicate issues such as illness, death, rebirth: a symbol that becomes a means to express universal emotions or individual narratives.
