CONTEMPORARY VISIONS OF THE EX-VOTO
from April 12 to September 30, 2025
After its success in Milan, the exhibition Per Grazia Ricevuta arrives in Naples, in the evocative setting of the Chapel and Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro. Curated by Alberto Mattia Martini and produced by D’Uva, the exhibition presents over 120 works by contemporary artists – including Paladino, Pistoletto, Jodice, Biasiucci, Mitoraj, and Yves Klein – offering an unprecedented look at the theme of the ex-voto.An journey through faith and art, tradition and contemporary languages, that invites reflection on gratitude, miracle, survival, and rebirth.

The great protagonist of the exhibition is Yves Klein’s celebrated blue monochrome, donated by the French artist in 1958 to the Monastery of Santa Rita da Cascia as a sign of devotion. Here, it is exceptionally displayed in the Sacristy of the Chapel of the Treasure of San Gennaro, where Luca Giordano’s paintings are kept.

Produced by D’Uva, the exhibition aims to explore and reinterpret the ancient theme of ex-votos – tangible testimonies of faith, gratitude, miracles, and survival – through the eyes of 120 artists, including Mimmo Jodice, Mimmo Paladino, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Antonio Biasiucci, Giulia Piscitelli, Roxy in the Box, Igor Mitoraj, and other prestigious figures from the contemporary scene.

In “Per Grazia Ricevuta” (For Received Grace), artists explore the concept within a contemporary context through various mediums and diverse artistic approaches, ranging from painting to sculpture, revisiting and reinterpreting the meaning and aesthetics of this iconographic genre.
