The Color of Mimmo Jodice

May 17, 2026 – January 10, 2027

Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro, Naples

The Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro pays tribute to Mimmo Jodice with The Color of Mimmo Jodice, an exhibition produced and organized by D’Uva in collaboration with the Mimmo Jodice Studio, curated by Sylvain Bellenger.

The exhibition presents the only color project ever created by the artist: over forty photographs dedicated to 17th-century Neapolitan masterpieces—some previously unseen—born in the 1980s during Jodice’s visits to the exhibition Civilization of the 17th Century in Naples at the Capodimonte Museum.

The images—dedicated to works by Caravaggio, Ribera, Luca Giordano, Artemisia Gentileschi, and other Baroque masters—isolate details, faces, and pictorial fragments, transforming them into suspended and contemporary visions. A rare body of work, restored and brought back to light today thanks to a significant intervention promoted by D’Uva.

Furthermore, the exhibition represents the first major retrospective tribute dedicated to Jodice following his passing. It unfolds throughout the spaces of the Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro, in dialogue with the historical collections and featuring an immersive display specifically designed for the itinerary.

The opening also coincides with the inauguration of the museum’s new reception areas and the new lighting system designed by lighting designer Filippo Cannata.

The exhibition is realized with the patronage of the Campania Region and the City of Naples.
